FAQ

We're here to help make your next project an amazing experience with top notch service, skilled craftsmanship, and convenient payment options. If you have a question that's not found here, please contact us.

Estimates

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Cash for small repairs and projects under $500. For larger projects we accept Check, Zelle, ACH, Debit or Credit Card. There will be an additional card processing fee ( usually 2.9% ) added to invoices for card payments. Please let us know if you would like to pay by card beforehand.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes, depending on your location. Most estimates don't always require an initial site visit. We are digital -- Clients have the option to send us photos / videos and measurements for requests. If a site visit is determined to be necessary, estimates will be adjusted accordingly based on new findings or information.

Can I visit your locations?

Workshops: Due to safety and liability, our workspaces have dangerous equipment and are not suited for client visits. We provide our clients with regular updates on the status of their project, which can include photo or video progression. We also arrange all pick-ups and drop-offs for client convenience, including picking up payments made by check.

Offices: We contract with 3rd party marketing teams across Southern California that help us connect with clients in the cities we service. Our service areas are always expanding, so you may see our listings in more than one area, or a service area where our external teams are located.

Do you offer shop drawings + mockups?

2D project drawings can be provided upon request after a project deposit is received. If drawings are requested before a deposit is made, there will be a $100 fee per drawing. If the client decides to move forward with the project, the fee will be deducted from the project total.

Standard vs. Above Standard

Our standard fabrication is :

  • 5/8” Square 16 Gauge Tubular Pickets
  • 4” Spacing
  • 1-1/2” or 1-1/4” Sq. 16 Gauge Tubular Framing or Cross Members
  • 2” or 3” Sq. 16 Gauge Tubular Posts
  • 22 Gauge Perforated Sheet Metal for Gates & Doors

Anything outside of our standard construction including sizes and ornamental work is considered above standard and will be priced accordingly.

Do you install automatic gates?

Yes, we install automatic gates. We work with LiftMasters but we highly recommend Calimet. In the event of aftercare needs or client trouble shooting after installation, Calimet has better customer service and local servicing in Los Angeles County. Calimet also has faster opening times, more programming options, and other features that are superior to LiftMaster.

What is needed for installations or repairs?
  • Our installers will need access to electrical sockets or electricity sources within 200ft of the work area. ( Installers will have their own cables that reach up to 200ft )
  • We ask that you please keep any pets, animals, and children away and clear from the work area for safety.
  • Welding requires special masks that guard the fabricators eyes from the strong light the welding equipment produces. It is advised that clients not look directly at the light or welding area when active welding work is in progress. It could potentially cause vision impairment.
  • Welding can emit sparks -- We advise removing any surrounding items that could potentially be flammable.
  • If areas require touch up paint, our installers will protect the surrounding areas as much as possible. Clients are welcome to provide their own tarp, coverings, or materials for extra protection.

Terms & Policies

Terms & Policies

Review our terms and policies for a successful project

Estimates & Pricing

All services provided shall be limited to those specifically described in estimates, proposals, invoices, or change orders. Any additional work requested will require a separate written agreement, change order, or estimate and may be subject to additional charges or terms.

All estimates are valid for thirty (30) days unless otherwise stated. Estimate pricing is based on the conditions and information known at the time of the estimate, and is subject to change with new requests or developments in the project. Changes in project scope, material costs, site conditions, or client requests that may result in price adjustments will be communicated and agreed upon in a revised estimate or in writing. Verbal requests for significant change orders on build or materials will not be accepted. If the client withholds or fails to provide any information that is integral to providing an accurate estimate, we are not obligated to honor existing estimate pricing should adverse conditions arise.

"Fabrication Only" Projects

For clients that request fabrication of a project without our assistance for installation, we will not be obligated to make any adjustments or correct any alterations or work that was performed by the client or third-party after the final project has been delivered and is in the possession of the client. Requests to do so may be honored at our discretion and may incur additional costs. Any warranties that cover our fabrication quality will be void after the client chooses to self-install or have a third-party install or alter the project. Warranties are only valid before such events or actions occur. The client will be fully responsible for sourcing any additional hardware or materials needed for self-installation.

Ornamental or "Above Standard" Designs

It will be the responsibility of the client to provide all photo examples or mockups of a requested design pattern, and the client will need to make the final decisions regarding their project design selections. A gallery of prior work can be found on our website if the client would like to source ideas from our other projects.

If the client provides a particular design that we determine is beyond our scope, will exceed the project budget, or will not be structurally sound, we will inform the client in a timely manner and may suggest alternative options.

All ornamental pieces are pre-made and we are limited to the stock and design options from our suppliers, therefore it may not be possible for some design patterns to be duplicated exactly. Every supplier carries different ornamental pieces and materials. Our supplier's ornamental catalogue can be found at [ www.maxweld.com ]. If the client does not like any ornamental pieces from our suppliers, it will be the responsibility of the client to source their own ornamental pieces.

We suggest the client consult with a design contractor or architect for mockups for more intricate designs to ensure it meets their satisfaction before we start fabrication. After ornamental materials have been purchased, if the client requests a change order it will be their responsibility to cover any costs for new ornamental materials. Some suppliers may not accept returns or exchanges if the materials have been used or altered.

Client-Provided Materials

If the Client provides any materials, we assume no responsibility for defects, performance issues, or delays resulting from the use of Client-supplied materials. Our fabrication standard is considered : 5/8” square 16ga. tubular Pickets 4” spacing, 1-1/2” or 1-1/4”square 16ga. tubular framing or cross members, 2” or 3” square16ga. tubular Post, 22ga. Perforated sheet metal for gates only, and stationary fence perforated sheeting is not included / will be a separate material cost. Any designs, fabrication, or materials that do not fit these specs is considered custom or above standard and may incur additional charges. All significant material changes or requests will be considered a change order, and a change order estimate will be provided or the changes will have to be finalized and approved in writing.

It will be the responsibility of the client to either pre-protect or provide further protection materials beyond our standard materials for any areas of concern.
